350 300 H.P. 4 Speed. Very Original matching numbers car. Has appeared in the corvette calendar and numerous books and magazines. I have owned this car since 1998. It was cosmetically restored before I purchased it. It had a very high quality repaint that is now showing some chips and hairline cracks. This is not a show car, but is a very dependable good driving car. After I purchased it I did a lot of mechanical work to it. I replaced the water pump, fuel pump, carberator, belts, hoses, fuel lines. Coil, rebuilt the distributor, points, condenser, cap rotor, wires and plugs. The rear spring with a fiberglass spring, adjustable strut arms, brand new rear trailing arms and bearing assembelies, differential crossmember, shocks, stainless steel calipers and pads, silicone brake fluid. I replaced the oil pan and seals, bellhousing, flywheel, clutch and throw out bearing, transmission bearings, all new u joints in the drive shaft and half shafts. Shocks. Upper a frame bushings and ball joints. Four new T/A radials. Last year a new battery and rebuilt alternator. (I have the original matching numbers alternator). It has the under car baffled exhaust, sound great. I basically went completely through it and did whatever it needed to be a safe, dependable car. If I did not replace a part it was still serviceable. The speedometer broke a few years ago and I replaced it with a used one and a new cable. the same thing happened to this one so the speedometer is not working at this time. I have driven the car very little over the last few years and have other interests so it is time it found a new home. It would be a great car to do a full off restoration on or just continue to drive and enjoy it. There were only 6,648 convertibles built in 1970, it was also the last year for high compression engines. Again this is a good driving car that is a blast to take through the gears. Pre 1973 cars in NYS have a transferable registration, not a title. Motor suffix code is V0401CTD. Color codes from the trim plate. Built date is E13. April 9, 2012. |
